IPMA-CP (In Training)

IPMA-CP (In Training) recognizes individuals who have completed post-secondary education in human resource management and who have not yet obtained HR work experience.  Candidates would demonstrate through an online application that they have completed post-secondary education in human resource management, have taken the IPMA-Canada “Developing Leaders in Human Resource Management” Workshop and passed the Certification Exam.

Candidates would demonstrate through an online application that they have completed at least a two (2) year education program in human resource management, have taken the IPMA-Canada “Developing Leaders in Human Resource Management Workshop” and passed the certification exam.

IPMA-CP (In Training) candidates will advance to the IPMA-CP designation upon providing proof of two (2) years’ work experience in one of the required technical proficiency areas to the National Certification            Committee.

To be eligible for certification as an IPMA-CP (In Training), you must meet the education prerequisite:

  • Candidates for this designation would have university graduation with a specialization in human resource management or successful completion of a two (2) year post-secondary program in human resource management; and
  • Taken the IPMA-Canada, “Developing Leaders in Human Resource Management Workshop;” and
  • Passed the Certification Exam
